Clearwater Newsletter 2-16-2018

Greetings Families!

We just came off of a short week packed with adventures and celebrations! We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Dodge Nature Center on Monday where the students had the opportunity to kick sled, examine different amphibians and reptiles, study and search for animal tracks all in absolutely perfect winter weather.  Some groups had the chance to see a herd of deer as they were examining tracks in the snow. Some groups saw a rabbit meet an ill fate... but we all had a wonderful time learning from the Dodge Guides and exploring their property. See pictures from our day below :) Thank you Jeremy and Dennis for your help! I believe Dennis caught a live video of the deer crossing... he says he will share.

Lessons We've Had...
  • Addition fact families
  • Finishing salt dough models of landforms and water forms
  • Classifying animal tracks
  • Beginning work with reading and writing poetry
  • Acrostic poems
  • Classifying quadrilaterals
  • Economic Geography (began by looking at all the steps it takes for bread to be made and to arrive at our dinner table)
  • Small bead frame - building numbers and adding equations
